Andalusite's ability to change colours when viewed from different angles is due to pleochroism. Andalusite is an aluminium silicate mineral found in low-pressure metamorphic rocks. It's composed of Sillimanite and Kyanite. Andalusite is available usually in yellow-brown or green-brown, even pink-brown. However, there are Andalusite stones that are white, green, red, or orange, too.
Chiastolite is a variety of Andalusite with a graphite cross.
